Description
These are hand hammered 1/2″ gold filled buttons. All my buttons are sold in groups of five. There are numerous steps involved in making these buttons so they come to you fully finished on front and back – something that you as well as your customers will appreciate. What is gold filled anyway? It is very different than gold plated. Compared to gold plating, a much thicker layer of gold is bonded to both sides of brass. Think of it like a sandwich – 14kt gold is the bread, and brass in the meat inside. It does not wear away with time because it is a much more substantial layer than plating. This particular hammer style button is one of my most popular styles. I use a ball peen hammer to create the pattern. These are very popular and are used frequently with wrapped bracelets. But their use is only limited by your imagination. Most buttons are made with a 1.9mm hole which works great with 1.5mm leather cord. For larger cords, I drill 3.0mm holes. Please select the hole size when checking out. If you need a different size, you can request that here.
I take great care in creating these quality buttons. They are carefully handcrafted to give you a luxe piece that your customers will love. Because each button is handmade, there may be variations in what you see photographed – but the differences will be minimal.
