These are a pair of one of a kind open washer styled earrings that are delightfully light. They are made with blue, and white enamels. They dangle 3/4″ from the ear with a pair of handmade argentium silver ear wires. They measure 1″ around.
The earrings are made from pure copper that have been cut into an open washer style and deburred. They have many coats of enamel (powdered glass) to ensure a nice crackle design. Each layer is fired in my kiln at 1500°. The last layer is fired once in the kiln and then torch fired.
Because they are handmade, no two can be exactly the same. But that’s the beauty of handmade. With that said though, you can clearly see these are a set. I think this pair has a kind of tribal feel to them the way the shape of the white enamel surrounds the organic shape of the blue enamel.
